a gene that plays a role in brain development
and whose mutant form causes a type
of epilepsy with auras.

step closer to non-invasive brain surgery
Conventional brain surgery is highly
invasive and can potentially cause severe
side effects. However, researchers in
Switzerland have developed a new non-invasive
technique, which has shown very promising
preliminary results. What could this

Research UK Evening Lecture 2009

will take place on Wednesday 7 October

Club. Our speakers, Professor Mike
Kerr, from Cardiff University and
Dr John Paul Leach, from The Walton

latest information about two vital
