There are many ways that you can work with your employers to benefit Epilepsy Research UK.
Charity of the Year
Some companies rely on nominations from their staff to decide who will be the beneficiaries of their charitable donations. If your company has a scheme like this, please put our name forward. Some recent companies include:
Sainsbury’s Wolverhampton Interchange Branch supported us in March 2016 as employee Liz has a son with epilepsy. Activities include awareness and fundraising days in store, book sales and Purple Day activity.
Jefferson Sheard Architects adopted us as their Charity of the Year ending in March 2016, their biggest fundraiser will be a music event organised in October.
Fowler Welch generously decided to support us as their charity of the year for 2014/15 due to the untimely passing of their colleague, Warren Bradshaw. A series of events was planned across all depots – Christmas Jumper Day, Golf Day, Coffee Morning and the Big Bike Challenge which saw employees cycling 726 miles between all Fowler Welch depots. There were also entrants in the Big Fun Run and Triathlon. Elaine Wymant, Marketing Manager says; “It is an honour to support Epilepsy Research UK , it is close to everyone’s hearts at Fowler Welch. The Big Bike Challenge was a great success and we have many more activities planned to raise even more money for this important research.” We are delighted to have received over £22,500 from their fundraising year.
Some big companies operate schemes whereby they match the money that you raise for charity. If you’re doing fundraising for us, it’s worth asking your company if they’ll match what you raise.
Payroll Giving, also known as Give As You Earn, is an easy and tax-efficient way to support Epilepsy Research UK. You choose your donation amount and it is deducted directly from your salary before tax, meaning that part of your donation is contributed by the taxman. Talk to your employer to see if they have a Payroll Giving scheme in place. If not, see here for details of Payroll Giving agences.
We rely on corporate sponsorship to help fund our International Workshops. Other opportunities include sponsorship of direct marketing and fundraising activities. To find out how your company could work with us, please contact us.
Employee fundraising is a great way to encourage team spirit in any organisation. It can help motivate employees and assists in staff development and team building.
Farnell hold an annual Golf Day and have been supporting us for many years raising over £165,000 in total. Organised by staff, the whole company is involved and its great day everyone looks forward too. We are hugely grateful for their continued support.
If your company already organises any events, please tell them about us. If you fancy organising an event yourself, we’ll give you all the support we can. Click here to find out what you could do.
