This year, in addition to our ‘standard’ fellowships, we are offering a new clinical research training fellowship (CRTF) opportunity in collaboration with the MRC.
Applications can be for either pre- or post-doctoral CRTFs, although please note that applicants for post-doctoral CRTFs must have completed their PhDs five or more years previously, and they must have been unable to maintain any research activity since this time due to training commitments.
All proposals must be entirely relevant to epilepsy, and they must be submitted via the MRC’s Joint Electronic Submission system (Je-S).
Detailed instructions of how to apply can be found here (pre-doctoral CRTFs) and here (post-doctoral CRTFs), and to download the guidance for applicants and relevant CV templates, please click here (see ‘Document downloads’ to the right of the page). Enquiries should be sent to the MRC at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for applications is 8 September 2016 and shortlisting is scheduled for February 2017. Interviews will take place on 1 or 2 March 2017. A maximum of one clinical fellowship will be jointly funded by Epilepsy Research UK and the MRC, and applicants will be notified in March 2017.
Please note that if your application is shortlisted yet not successful, but Epilepsy Research UK’s scientific advisory committee believes it has potential, it may still be considered alongside the shortlisted fellowship applications to our ‘normal’ grant round. There is no need to apply to both streams.
